On behalf of the Functional Brain-Gut Research Group, the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, the International Group for the Study of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, and the International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders we wish to invite you to participate in our Joint International Neurogastroenterology and Motility meeting to be held August 27-30, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois.

As shown in the accompanying program, the topics and speakers for this meeting will discuss cutting-edge research results that focus on disease mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders involving gastrointestinal neuromuscular function. Particular attention has been placed on the rapidly developing field of research that focuses on brain-gut interactions. This meeting will set the stage to improve our understanding of the physiology and pathophysiology of neuromuscular behavior in the gastrointestinal tract and the brain-gut axis.
